Cars in Germany's Town Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a man who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then located many other marked cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any harm in association with the incident," they commented.

City officials stated they were working "to solve the case" and have asked to the residents for details.

A senior official stated the attack left him without words and needed to be resolved quickly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on online, referring to the killing of nine people by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
